How To Cook Yam Porridge

Yam Porridge is delicious Nigerian delicacy originally prepared by the south-southern people of Nigeria especially the Binis (true or false? argue with me in the comment section) made with yam(obviously).

Check out the simple way to prepare Yam Porridge in the steps below;

Step 1

Peel off the outer layer of the yam tuber, and cut the yam into small desired sizes.

Step 2

Wash the yam pieces thoroughly with water and put them into a neat pot with clean water (not so much).

Step 3

Now put on fire and allow it to boil for a while (say 10 minutes or less)

and then add your ingredients which include,

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion
  • Oil
  • Maggi
  • Crayfish
  • Vegetable (if necessary)

Allow them to boil together for some minutes (say 15 minutes).

Step 4

Steer properly for all the ingredients to mix and leave it to thicken. Voila, your yam porridge is ready to be eaten.
